Compare
On while one number is below another — or above it, if you flip the arrow.
| Port | Side | What it carries |
|---|---|---|
enable | In | Optional. While it is off, the result is off. If nothing is wired to it, Compare is always enabled. |
value | In | The number being compared, such as this week's outgoing payments. |
threshold | In | The number it is compared with, such as last week's. |
result | Out | On while the comparison holds, off otherwise. |
What you choose
The direction. The arrow on the card says it: pointing left is value is less than threshold, pointing right is value is greater than threshold. Double-click the card, then click the arrow to flip it.
Both sides are wires, so Compare suits two figures that both move — this month against last month, cash against a forecast, one entity against another. To compare with a fixed figure, wire a Number to threshold, or use a Range trigger, which holds its limits on the card.
What Fluidly decides
When both figures come from the same source — this week's and last week's sum off one bank feed — they are updated one after the other. Fluidly waits until both belong to the same refresh before it compares, so a half-updated pair never turns Compare on by mistake.
When the wires carry labelled figures, the card names itself after them, such as This week < Last week. You can type your own name instead.
The result is strict: two equal figures are neither less nor greater, so Compare is off.
Enable
The enable port at the top switches Compare off whatever the figures say. Wire another trigger there to require both: Compare is on only when its own comparison and the enable agree.
Example
Bank Account → Statistics (this week) → value, Bank Account → Statistics (last week) → threshold, with the arrow pointing right, Compare → Email: a note when this week's outflow exceeds last week's.
