Data Source
Number
Shows one figure — a cash position, a cash flow, or a value you type. The data decides which reading fits; you can pick the other.
| Port | Side | What it carries |
|---|---|---|
in | In | Optional. A number, or records to read a cash position or cash flow from — a bank account, a filter, a forecast. |
out | Out | The figure on the card, as a number for triggers, arithmetic and text boxes. |
What you choose
Either nothing, or the figure itself.
- Wired — the Number shows what arrives. There is nothing to set.
- Not wired — double-click, or use the pencil, and type a value: a threshold, a rate, a
budget line. Formatted figures such as
-1,916,816.03paste in as numbers. Anything that is not a number stays as text.
What Fluidly decides
Wire records into a Number and it has two honest readings: the cash position at the end of the records, and the cash flow — the sum of what moved. Fluidly picks one from what the records are.
| What arrives | What it shows |
|---|---|
| A whole account, a sum of accounts | Cash position — the balance at the last date |
| A slice cut by a filter — one category, one period | Cash flow — what that slice moved |
The caption under the card says which reading you are looking at and for which dates, for example cash position 2026-11-03 or cash flow 2026-01-01 — 2026-03-31.
Cash position or cash flow
When both readings make sense and differ, a small switch appears on the card: Cash position | Cash flow. Pick the other one and it stays picked, even if you add a filter upstream later. To go back to automatic, remove the wire and connect it again.
When the two readings agree, there is no switch. Its absence means there is nothing more to see.
Size
The figure can be made larger or smaller from the card's ⋯ menu, for a headline on a dashboard
or a footnote beside a chart.
Example
Bank Account → Category (supplier payments) → Number: what went out to suppliers in the period. Number → Range trigger → Email: the same figure, watched.
