Getting started
Connecting a bank
How to connect a bank account to Fluidly with a consent — step by step, and what to do when someone else holds the login.
Fluidly reads your bank accounts through open banking. You do not install anything or hand over passwords: you give your bank a consent, and the bank shares the accounts it covers. Your first balances arrive in minutes.
Before you start
You need to be able to log in to the bank yourself — usually with BankID or the bank's own app. If someone else holds the login, see When someone else has the login below.
Step by step
- Place a Bank Account on the canvas (palette key 1) and open the account list on the card.
- Click Connect more accounts, at the top of the list. A small window opens: Add Bank Account.
- Select account type — Business or Personal.
- Select a country — type to search.
- Select a bank — type to search, pick your bank and continue.
- Log in at your bank. The window now shows your bank's own login and approval screens — this part is the bank's, not Fluidly's. Log in, choose the accounts you want to share, and approve the consent.
- Connected! Close the window. The accounts are now in the list on every Bank Account card in your team. Pick one, and its balance and transactions arrive.
Repeat for each bank. Accounts from all your banks appear in one list — you never need to know which consent an account came from.
When someone else has the login
Often the person who builds the canvas is not the one who can log in to the bank. At the top of the Add Bank Account window, copy this link and send it to whoever can. They open it, go through steps 3 to 7 on their own computer, and the accounts appear on your canvas when they are done. They do not need a Fluidly login.
How long a consent lasts
Banks limit how long a consent is valid. The card counts down the days it has left, so it never expires unannounced:
- A countdown — the consent is fine; this is how long until it needs renewing.
- Yellow — the consent works, but the last update did not get through. It usually sorts itself out.
- EXPIRED — the bank has stopped answering for this account. Connect it again from the list.
What Fluidly can see
A consent gives Fluidly read access: balances and transactions. It does not let Fluidly move money.
